OK OK OK sorry we know we are not the best at the whole posting thing... (Don't worry it's my new years resolution). We also both are completely terrible at taking pictures.
So here is your update or THE update, eh whichever. :)
So Troy started his job. HURRAH! It is fantastic to have some mulah coming in. (Old news but new to some)
I quit my job and I am doing school, but am now looking for a new job. I also got accepted to San Diego State University, (another hurrah!) and will start there in January.
Thanksgiving was spent at Mom and Dad Steed's it was WAY fun. Dad and I ran a 10k (let's not talk about that part) in Topanga (Boy meets world anyone?) National Forest. It was absolutely the most dreadful and wonderful run at the same time. It was fantastic! We both ate a lot and stayed for about a week.
Then we had the Christmas time start almost immediately. :) Troy's work party and finals and shopping all made December go by very quickly. It was such a great time though. Troy's work party was a lot of fun (he works with the coolest people!). My finals went well (thanks for asking :) ) Aced both of my classes, therefore I have been promoted to balla status.
Then came the Christmas parties and oh did they come. This past week Mom and Dad Steed and sisters (plus cousin) came down to San Diego. We went to the beach, and the temple and had overall a really great time. Then we went to Mom and Dad Richey for Christmas and it was a lot of fun as well. We got to talk to Elder Richey, and eat (more than I should have) and spend good time with family. Christmas at the Ott's was the next day and again more eating and tomfoolery. Then that night Troy and I drove up to LA and spent Christmas with Mom and Dad Steed and the fam. It was also fantastic. Eating and tomfoolery. Troy and I enjoyed church at the Stevenson Ranch Ward and went home later that day. Finally we had our Christmas. It was a lot of
fun, full of legos and movies and again more snacks. This whole week although it was quite the whirlwind of adventures was a lot of fun.
The week after Christmas is always full of exciting adventures as well- We will have to wait and see what it brings but it will be something we won't want to miss. This season is filled with a lot usually, and we can easily forget the "true meaning of Christmas" but something I realized through all of events and fun and traveling, is this; How in the world could I forget Christ when I see my family who is sealed together for time and all eternity around me. This would not be possible without him. Family is the greatest gift we have received this year. The expansion of more people we love.
Oh and all that food, sure did leave me a little gift too... extra work this week and for the rest of the month. (And it won't get better for awhile).

Grandma Penny let us borrow her underwater camera. Here are a few of our latest water adventures.
Kayda's underwater backflip (tilt your head to the left, I haven't figured out how to rotate the pictures yet)

La Jolla Shores Leopard Sharks

I'm not sure, but I think this shark kept saying "Nicki, come swim with me." Any idea what that means?

I've had this blog since June 2007 and this is my first post ever! (Next post coming 2013)

I'm a farting robot... I'm a farting robot!

I am not very good at blogging. I admit it. I don't stay on top of it and I should. This past month has been a little crazy for us. I recently got a job at a gym as a personal trainer. It is a bit of a drive but money is money. I also start school this month and I can't tell you how nervous I am. All the time that I have spent in school you would think that this time with only 2 classes would be a breeze... yeah not so much.
Troy keeping up with the same old same old. Studying, Snorkeling, Showering ( I couldn't think of anything else he has done with an S).
We have had the chance to see family and for me to spend more time getting acquainted with these lovely people. We are so grateful for the chance we have to live so close to all of them.
All of these wonderful opportunities that are given to us we are incredibly grateful for.
As a side note: Today we were at the temple and there were some couples there getting their pictures taken after the ceremony. I had a brief moment of nostalgia that only 2 months ago that was us, and I never in my wildest imagination would have imagined this life for me. Now don't get me wrong I love it and wouldn't change it for the world. But who would of thought a year ago that I would be married, living in California, going back to school, and living this life. It goes to show that the Lord knows what is in store for us and how things are going to pan out. Sometimes I think that if I can't imagine it than it won't happen but shame on me for the lack of trust in him.
I offer a piece of advice from this very long drawn out post... That although you think your life is headed in one direction or another, please consult the Lord. He knows what is going in much better and trust me he provides the best comfort through trials than anything else. Just ask him, he is waiting for you to ask. I love my Heavenly Father and I am very grateful for my wonderful husband. Things won't always be easy but I know the Richey team can make it and it will be worth it. We love you all!
( On a funny note, because this post was so serious.... I just thought of Kayda's farting robot. What a funny kid! We love those kids!)

WATER SPORTS!
Troy and I have discovered the Ocean! (not entirely true but just go with it). Both of us LOVE going to the beach and taking walks, doing life planning etc. but recently we have become so excited with the idea of WATER SPORTS! We realized that there are a bajillion things to do in the water and we now want to do ALL of them. The list includes but is not limited to: scuba diving, ocean swimming, snorkeling, sailing, ocean kayaking, and surf boarding. We are really excited about the endless possibilities that the ocean provides. We absolutely love the ocean and we are incredibly grateful to live so close to it!

The Married life begins

Update time- although we are pretty boring at this point. We got completely moved into our apartment. FINALLY! Once everything was put away I cleaned the entire apartment, I was so excited to have the floors vacuumed, and mopped- and everything cleaned. My parents will probably faint when they see this - seeing as how my room was never clean but I guess things change when you get your own place. Troy and I love our apartment, location, and the complex included.
We haven't really done a whole lot lately: Troy has been studying for his CPA (like ALL the time), and yesterday he started on the ward softball team. As for me I completed the THANK YOU's which I have decided are not enough to thank people for their kindness but I guess they will have to do :) We really like our new ward and being married is pretty fun. We are so grateful for our families and friends!
We have a lot of big events coming up but mostly we are just hanging out. I am getting familiar with the area still- running is a little frustrating because of all the lights and busy roads but hey I hope I will get used to it soon.
Pictures as I promised here are a few-

A New Adventure!
Troy and I after much thought have decided to start a blog.(Troy started the blog FOREVER ago but never posted... That's where I come in :) ) I know such a follower, but with family and and dear friends across the country we want to keep them updated on the exciting happenings in San Diego!
Troy and I were married about a week ago today. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful! Everything was perfect and we could not have asked for a better day. We are both so happy and have already had some amazing times. Neither of us wanted a stressful honeymoon, after moving and graduation we really just wanted to take it easy. We decided to take the new Richey clan up the coast. WOW! We had such an incredible view of the ocean and mountains. We hit up a few of the tourist spots like Hearst Castle, Monterey Aquarium and San Fransisco's Fisherman's Wharf. We really had a lot of fun and although the week is coming to an end we are still really excited because tomorrow we move into our first apartment! We are both so grateful to our family and friends for everything and especially for all the love and support.
A special shout out to THE GANG for a bang up job on the car! You know who you are ;) Pictures to be posted soon!
