I used to love Awkward Moments! Truly they are fantastic, as long as I am not involved and can watch as a bystander or by chance facilitate one, it used to be the bread to my butter. Now it's... well it's awkward. I'd like to think that this attitude change occurred because I am a much better person but I think in reality they started happening to me more, which is not near as fun.
Before you all get judgy judgy you know you love them to, like the "I don't remember your name so I'll wait for someone to say it then I'll talk to you" and when no one does the "Oh Hey...you". Or how about when you see some women with her pants hanging half off her behind and something akin to dental floss coming out. "Listen lady buy a belt, panty lines are not the devil, what we just saw was."
Of course this morning when I had by far the most awkward thing happen ever... I forgot the Dancer's birthday... Not the oh it's your birthday I didn't call, try... oh I sent a birthday text like 5 days early and was super excited because for once I was doing the whole birthday thing right and the text was like a billion pages long. And in response I got you know it's not my birthday right? Son of a biscuit burner!
So in honor of the awkward turtle I am giving an awkward turtle award to myself. And to the dancer I give my sincerest BFF apologies! I'm the worst!

Morning Runs
SD is one of the most crazy places I have ever lived. It has tons of people all the time and drivers can be insane. It is pure chaos a lot of the time and it has become kind of fun! And then there are those mornings when I actually get up and do my run and it's calm and quiet. There is a stillness only interrupted by the sound of my feet hitting the pavement or the waves crashing onto the shore (and every so often me blowing my nose or hockin' a lugie. TMI? probably but you love it) Everything that I get worried or stressed about just melts away and my day has a fresh new beginning!

I never take pictures while I run but today after I had finished I just had to capture the sun rising and the waves breaking! Gorgeous!

We're couch eaters
Lately I have had this desire to have a party, not some foofy souriee but a fun exciting new type of party but here is the problem our place is kinda small, and when I throw a party I like it big! Not invite people I've never seen but big like no skimping on the invitations everybody invited type of thing. So here is my idea we'll see if I actually do it-
Favorite things health party... ok so I saw this idea on Pinterest ( and I actually want to do the things I see) so the party is basically where everyone brings their favorite things like 5 of the same thing and people get to go home with something new to try. Cute Idea right? Well I wanted to do it better, I want everyone to bring something that they use to stay healthy or their favorite health "thing", ex. like a smoothie recipe, fav workout, running route, vegetable, side dish, motivation ... the list is practically endless. Here is the problem... where the heck would I put everyone? So until I figure out the location the idea is on hold. But fear not I will follow through or so we hope right? So for now I will leave you with this motivation

It cracks me up everytime... mainly because on one of my training runs I look over in this store window and this is actually what I looked like Hooray! (again sarcastic font is needed)

hiatus... the best word for I have been super lazy
After quite a long hiatus for no other reason than I do not handle school well, I figure I should be back for awhile. I have been inspired over the past few months from all the blogs I read, and I really want to take this blogging thing by the horns!
As a quick update for all the family and oh so loyal followers:
School is done (until the middle of January)- rocked it like a rocking chair
Busy Season starts today- hooray (they really need a sarcastic font for blogs)
I ran a marathon... 26.2 eat my shorts
So with all this inspiration from different blogs (see blogs I follow to the left) I have been thinking about starting my own you know separate from our family blog, but that is a lot of work and let's be honest I don't keep up with this one well. So I am just doing a makeover. Hope you love it!
So here's to you 2012 for new resolve to blog more!
Hope you like hearing from us because we're back... again... man I suck! :)

Blackouts, Wedding and Surfing OH MY! ;)
Alright, I know this has been my longest non blogging yet.
Ha just kidding all my faithful followers know that it is not even the longest.
Anyway, so did you hear we (as in SD) had a blackout last night. Oh yes, I have just become the 98098989898 person to post about this terrific event. I was so excited, until some loser posted a fb status about how SD has only enough water reserve for 1 day for everyone. Thanks a lot meanie! But it was great we had candles and talked (and by talked I mean Slugger fell asleep while I consistently asked "Are you even listening to me?"
To which I got a grunt of acknowledgment. (Same thing parents did to me when I would try to come and chat with them after my exciting nights) good thing I know what it means.
Anyway I LOVED it!
Troy also got a surf board which I have decided not to post a picture of because I don't want to. Hiyah! take that blogging world.
By the way we went to a wedding! in Ohio. Yeah I was there and if you are from OHIO and live there and I didn't call you my b. I was tots mehgots busy (pronounced like it sounds)
But the wedding was lovely in case you are curious who it was it was the Horse Trainer and the Dancer and they are a lovely pair! More like rockin' Love you both Here are some fantastic pictures I took. (And by me I mean Slugger and I took one guess which.)

I may lose my life after posting this picture, but trust me it was worth it! :)

"Living in continual chaos is exhausting, frightening. The catch is that it's also very addictive." ~Lorna Luft
With a week left to the start of school I find I have many things that I would like to accomplish. All are in the organization category. Slugger and I have had about three weeks of pure and utter chaos. (And yes we took no pictures these past three weeks, and I don't feel the least bit bad.) And now that (hopefully) chaos has retreated into the dark I hope to get a little more organized.
Ok since you asked what kind of chaos :)
Slugger's brother came home about three weeks ago from a mission in FIJI. Slugger was very excited, seeing as how he hadn't seen him in two years. So we had all the hoopla that was associated with such happenings. I have also been busy teaching young minds ( I can say that because I am older than most of them) the wonders of human anatomy.
And now there is calm.
But as I look through my calender I see that almost every night this week I have something. Oh how I sometimes miss my recluse days in San Diego, where I didn't know anyone... but it is a fleeting feeling! Lorna's right it can be addictive.

Don't fence me in.....
As you could probably tell from our last post we have yet to discuss the actual MT adventure. And yes as a matter of fact is was quite the adventure. It was all kinds of awesome and not awesome.
Let me start with the negative and end with the positive (yeah I am a nice person). So I am not a huge fan of animals, sorry no other reasons than I have never really been their biggest fan. Neither has Slugger though BUT much to my surprise his MT dream list included horseback riding. That was not on my list. But because I really do love Slugger I said yes and almost lost my life more than once, ok not completely true but basically horses and I don't get along-
Here are some wonderful pictures for your viewing pleasure. By the way if you think I wore the same clothes everyday, you'd be close to right (Thank you Calories in )

Didn't know I married Tom Sawyer did you?

Hiking in Glacier Nat'l Park.

One of the many beautiful creations we saw.

My Rodeo debut...otherwise known as I almost lost my life!

My Rancher husband.. if numbers were an animal then yes this statement would be true.
Now most of you probably wonder when this post will stop, lucky for you I don't want to post anymore tonight. I will leave you with this piece of sage advice, IF a SOCAL boy asks if he can shoot a Jack rabbit tell him now or he might try in basketball shorts bare feet and a chaps shirt.
Twisted again: Slugger now wants land- I could take ID but MT that will take lots of convincing. For now I'll take my overpriced apt, debt ridden state and sandy beaches just fine thanks!
